Giving the Gift of Learning Winter Techniques and Fly Tying Classes

Nothing will advance your fly fishing more than education.  We pride ourselves on being your fly fishing learning center, home to every kind of class imaginable. From basic introductory classes to advanced level classes, we have it all.  Some of our offerings during the winter months include fly tying and our winter fishing techniques classes.

AC Guide Earl Hecker has combined tying kits and tying classes as a great gift idea.

“I would suggest a tying kit because winter flies are way too easy not to tie yourself. Tying and winter fishing classes will give you the edge you may need in a tight spot.”

Fly Tying 101/201 (every other Saturday)

In the winter months, we offer fly tying classes. These classes are a great way to explore an extremely rewarding side of fly fishing.  Our guides are skilled tiers and offer great guidance as you build the skills so you can land fish with a fly that you tied. The 101 is free and a basic introduction to tying flies.  You can see a detailed description and the schedule for Fly Tying 101 here.  The 201 is a step-up in structure, and the cost is $30.00 per person.  Fly Tying 201 class description and schedule

Advanced tying classes (dates TBA)

In these tying classes, anglers will learn advanced tying techniques from some of the best and brightest tiers in the country.

Winter fishing techniques

In this class, anglers will learn the tactics and techniques of fly fishing during the winter months in Colorado. Just because the snow is flying and the days are shorter does not mean the fish go on vacation.  Winter often holds great opportunity for fly fishing.  The Winter Fly Fishing Techniques classes are lecture and streamside, two-part classes.  Click the links to see the dates for the December class or January class
