301 Fly Tying and Streamside class with Tyler Boroff. 2 part class December 13, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm $100.00

 There are 4 essential lessons an angler must understand to advance in their fly fishing. One, understanding the entomology in the river. Two, relating fly patterns to the entomology. Three, learning to tie effective fly patterns to imitate the entomology. And lastly, how to rig and fish these patterns. In this first ever class of its kind, students will learn all 4 of these!

  Tyler Boroff is a renowned fly tier and Guide in our area. He is also a signature fly tier for Fulling Mill, Daiichi, Semper Fli and Regal Vise. He has over 2 dozen fly patterns available commercially. 

In this 2 part class, Tyler will not only teach you how to tie some of the most effective fly patterns for our area, but how to fish them as well. The tying portion of the class will take place at Angler’s Covey on Friday, December 13th. The streamside portion will take place on Saturday, December 14th. at the location of the instructors choice. 

 The focus in the classroom portion of this class will be tying annelids, baetis, midge larva, midge pupae/ midge emergers. There will then be a discussion on rigging for these patterns. On Saturday, students will take their knowledge to the water. Here Tyler will discuss tactics and techniques on fishing these patterns. He will also discuss his “Ninja Rig” leader system. 

 This tying class will be approximately 2 hours long. The stream side portion of the class will be about 3 hours long.

Prerequisite- Students need to have a basic understanding of fly tying for this class. Materials will be provided, but we ask that each student bring their own vise and tools. For the streamside portion, students must have a basic fly fishing understanding and possess their own gear. No gear will be provided for this portion of the class. This is not a beginners class. Cost of this class is $100 per person.
