SUMMARY:301 In-Depth Nymphing classroom/streamside Class
DESCRIPTION:This class is an in-depth (pun intended) workshop on the dynamics of fishing the immature stages of aquatic insects. The focus is on nymphing and we will cover static indicator\, straight line\, and dropshot nymphing. Not only we will cover these styles of nymphing\, but there will be a heavy focus on proper line control techniques. Other subjects covered include equipment\, basic entomology\, leader systems\, reading water\, visualizing fish\, steam etiquette\, and how to properly play and release fish. This is a 2 part class that consists of a classroom and streamside session.\nSome fly fishing experience is preferred\, but we encourage beginners as well as experts to take this class.\nClassroom portion at 6:00PM at Angler’s Covey\nStreamside meets at the chosen location and begin at 8am. If you are willing to brave the elements\, you will often be rewarded with whole stretches of river to yourself and large fish. However\, fly fishing in the winter can present some unique challenges. \nAnglers Covey Guides will take you through all of the tricks and tips with winter flyfishing. Gear\, entomology\, tactics\, rigging \, and locations will all be discussed at great lengths. \nThis is a 2 part class. Becoming a guide is a process\, and a professional guide school is a necessary first step. \nAngler’s Covey prides itself on providing a unique fly fishing adventure for all of our customers.  At the very heart of that experience is the relationship they have with their professional guide.  The Fly Fishing Guide School is the first step to sharing your passion for the sport with others. \nWhile individual angling skills are important\, fly fishing skills are not all that makes a good fly fishing guide. In the School\, students will learn all of the ins and outs to become not only a successful fly fishing guide\, but a top-quality professional. This School is one of a kind and designed to cover everything you will need to know on your journey to become a walk/wade fly fishing guide. \nThe Angler’s Covey Guide School instructors are Orvis-endorsed guides with literally over 1000 years of collective experience fishing and guiding throughout the west. Combine their expertise with the detailed curriculum at the heart of the School\, and you have a top-tier introduction into the life of a fly fishing guide. \nThe School will run Monday through Friday from 5pm to 9pm at the fly shop. Saturday and Sunday will be spent on the water putting your skills to work from approximately 8am to 4pm. The School will conclude with assessments and completion certificates on Sunday. \nCompletion of the guide school DOES NOT guarantee employment as a guide with Angler’s Covey. However\, exceptional students will be given an opportunity to start their guiding career with Angler’s Covey. \nWe recommend booking your spot early as the School enrollment is limited to eight students! The school is $1099.00 per person\, or $999.00 per person with early bird registration (registered by March 1st\, 2026). \nThis guide school does not teach fly fishing skills.
