Streamer fishing 101 June 18, 2021 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm $30
Streamer fishing —
The red-headed stepchild amongst the library of modern fly fishing techniques. On the surface it seems a bit primitive; just tie a big fly on some heavy tippet and slap it in the water, right? Just like anything in fly fishing, there is much more to the story. Streamer fishing can be intimidating and a bit overwhelming if you are just starting out. With the right knowledge, however, it can be an extremely effective method, even on technical tailwaters.
If you have ever had any interest in “chucking the meat,” this is the class for you. This class is the perfect introduction into the wild game of streamer fishing. We will cover all the gear, tackle, rigging basics, and tactics that are used in streamer fishing. There is no better time to get your streamer game dialed in so that when the water gets high, and nymphs and dries won’t cut it, you can turn to the meats.
Cost is $30 per person.
Class will be held at Angler’s Covey
