The Big Thompson River below Lake Estes holds panfish sized rainbows, cutthroat trout, and brown trout. The rainbows and cutts are stocked, and the browns are naturally reproducing. The best time of the year to throw dry flies starts around June and lasts until October. Fishing is catch and release flies and lures only.
