Where to Go Four Mile Creek – Booger Red Hill

Fourmile Creek in the Booger Red Hill area is a great place to escape the crowds. A high-clearance vehicle is required to drive the two-mile road. Then look for a fence on the right and park close to it. There is a trail that follows the fence south. Be advised that upstream is private property and clearly marked with a fence.

Accessibility: A high-clearance vehicle is required to drive the two-mile forest access road. The trail will have you wading the creek in some spots.

Distance: 100 miles from Colorado Springs / 2 hours

Season: This is a good Spring and Summer stream, but in late summer it can really heat up and the water temperature also warms and can stress the fish, so don't fish during these times.

Fly patterns: Hopper patterns, Elk Hair Caddis, Amy’s Ant, Yellow Humpies, Beadhead droppers.

Fish species: Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout averaging 4-10 inches in length

Fishing Regulations: Standard Colorado

Additional Information: Make sure to follow the fenceline down, NOT the road or you may run into some unfriendly owners of private property. Take heed that farther down the canyon there is an area named Rattlesnake Gulch. Caution: it is aptly named.
