About Mike Haycock
Mike graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in the early 2000’s. Discovering fly fishing later in life, he rapidly developed his skills on the South Platte and found a real passion for teaching. His first guide job was with a kids' summer fishing program. He has guided in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Arkansas, Eagle, and Colorado Rivers. He took an Oar Certification class in 2022 and found his ultimate passion: Rafting and Fly Fishing. Since then, he has worked mostly as a float guide and rafts as much as possible.
Mike now lives on the Arkansas River in Bighorn Sheep Canyon and looks forward to guiding his home water with Anglers Covey. He loves the Arkansas River and the brown trout that make up 75% of the Arkansas Headwater population. They are aggressive, smart, and hard-fighting fish. In his spare time, he enjoys live music, rafting, and streamer fishing with his buddies.
