AboutTed Demetriou

Ted Demetriou has deep roots in Colorado and the rivers in our region. After graduating from Cheyenne Mountain High School, he attended Colorado State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Forestry and Natural Resources. While he was at CSU, he learned to fly fish on the Cache la Poudre River near Fort Collins, Colorado and the South Platte River. After working for the Forest Service and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, his passion for fly fishing moved him back to Colorado Springs and to start guiding full time. He graduated from the Colorado Fly Fishing Guide Academy five years ago and hasn’t looked back. You can find Ted guiding on the South Platte almost every day of the season. As he says, “Come and let me show you my favorite game: See a Fish, Catch a Fish.”

A recent review from a trip with Ted-

"My dad and I booked a guided trip with Ted Demetriou through Angler's Covey and it was a wonderful experience. My dad is a beginner without gear, but he was all set that day - the fly shop provided waders and boots, and Ted made sure there was always a rod with the right flies and a net at the ready. Within 10 minutes, Ted had my dad roll-casting like a pro, and it didn't take long to have some nice rainbows in the net. Its clear Ted is full of knowledge and experience, and he was more than willing to let me pick his brain. I also appreciated his ethical approach to fishing. We caught nice fish throughout the day, and there was never a dull moment. Whether you are a beginner or a weekend warrior, we would recommend this experience to anyone!"
