AboutEric Holm
Eric grew up in the hill country of central Texas. He has always had a love of the outdoors and has been passionate about fishing and rock climbing for most of his life. He spent his childhood exploring the creeks, rivers and lakes near his home. Eric moved to Colorado Springs with his family in 2014. After a fishing trip with his son and nephew on the Gunnison River, he made the commitment to learn more about fly fishing. He was quickly hooked and now spends his free time learning about our front range fisheries, tying flies and chasing the multiple species available on our local waters. Eric truly enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors and fly fishing with others. He strives to make every trip a fun, educational and memorable experience.
A recent review for Eric-
"I had the pleasure of spending a day in the river on Thursday, July 18, 2024 with guide Eric Holm. This was only my second time on the water and first time alone with a guide. I was both excited and a little nervous. I had explained to Eric on our pre trip conversation that I wanted to learn more about the intricacies of fly fishing and also "catch a fish". Upon arriving at the river in Deckers Eric and I got to know each other a little better while we suited up. Once in the water Eric patiently explained concepts and maneuvers. His demonstrations and feedback helped me improve my casting and presentation skills. As a novice, I appreciated Eric's patience. One of the biggest areas of learning for me was the nymph leader system for Colorado Rivers. By using it on the gear Eric had brought I gained an enormous amount of knowledge and hands on experience. Later he told me where to find the diagram and picture on the Angler's Cover website. All in all a fun day and an enjoyable time hands on learning. And I caught my first two ever fish on the fly. Thanks Eric!!"
