AboutRick Bayley
Sean’s love of fly fishing started when he was gifted a used 5 foot 5 weight fly rod the day before his wedding. That was almost 30 years ago. He still has the same rod … and the same bride. Over the years and throughout his career with the U.S. Army, he has been flinging fur and feather across the country — in the Great Smoky Mountains, the Pacific Northwest, the Texas Gulf Coast, the Ozarks, Washington, D.C., and finally, Colorado. Once he stopped hooking himself in the back of his head and arms, he began to share his talents with family and friends and joined forces with Project Healing Waters at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, teaching fly tying and fly fishing to veterans.
Sean’s talent for teaching, his focused problem solving skills, and ability to build collaborative relationships were vital to his successful Army career as an accomplished physician and leader. These skills also translate very well to successful days on the water.
Sean elicits and listens to his clients’ wishes, is patient and flexible, provides clear communication and instruction, and cheerleads and challenges his fishing buddies and clients to reach higher in order to create memories that will last a lifetime. Sean also understands the benefits to the soul that a day on the water can bring — restoration, transformation, and renewal. He employs his talents to ensure a safe, professional, and memorable experience on some of the most beautiful waters in America.
When Sean is not chasing the “freckly fish,” you can find him volunteering with The Mayfly Project, tying flies, or working on his cornhole game.
