Elevenmile to open Monday
Eleven Mile Canyon Road, and Camp Alexander Boy Scout Camp remain closed and evacuated. These closures are planned to be lifted Monday (6/26) morning. Based on USFS ownership layer, all lands within current fire perimeter are Pike-San Isabel National Forest lands. Last update from the Rocky Mountain Type II Incident Management Team. 6:00 AM Monday 6/25, a local Type III Team will assume management of the Springer Fire.
The fire is 100% contained and most of the fire fighting resources have been redirected to the Waldo Canyon Fire.
It is a little unclear whether campgrounds and recreational areas will be completely open. We hope to get clarification on this Monday morning. Again, because of the Waldo Canyon Fire much of the fire management resources have been redirected there.
The fire will have no adverse effect on the three mile catch and release section above Springer Gulch Campground.
