Tricos in the Canyon

Anthony Surage’s fishing report from the field:  “I guided yesterday in upper 11 mile canyon. Trico’s are falling, trout are rising. I took out a wonderful couple who caught a good number of fish including a 19 inch rainbow. I had my clients using  a size 22 black parachute trico that has done the trick for years. Nymphing was also good after the hatch in the pocket water where, among other fish, we landed two nice Browns around 15 inches.  The best nymphs were a bead head pheasant tail size 18 and a black beauty emerger size 22. I think the trout are feeling good in the increased flows.”
