Spinney to be Closed to Boating?

We were just notified by the City of Aurora that Spinney Mountain Reservoir may be closed to boating in 2013 unless the snow pack drastically changes in the next two months.  Spinney Mountain is currently 12.7 vertical feet down from full elevation and the water level continues to drop.  We do expect to be able to allow belly boats and personal pontoons powered by fins only, but have not worked out details regarding other boats at this time.  We are awaiting water projections from Denver Water for Eleven Mile and will keep you posted as information becomes available.  Let’s pray to get that snow pack up.  March and April can be our snowiest months;  let’s hope that this most recent storm is a hint of things to come.
