Join Sportsmen for Browns Canyon as they celebrate the end of the summer fishing season and the kickoff of the fall hunting and fishing seasons.

Meet fellow sportsmen, listen to local speakers and learn more about the proposal to protect Browns Canyon, one of the best backcountry destinations in Colorado at Anglers Covey on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The Open House will feature speakers from the coalition and may also feature a visit from Congressman Doug Lamborn, who has tentatively scheduled to attend.

Sportsmen for Browns Canyon is a coalition of conservation organizations, businesses and individuals committed to protecting the sporting heritage this important piece of land has offered for generations.

Located along the Arkansas River south of Buena Vista and a few hours from Colorado Springs, Browns has a lot for any hunter or angler to love …mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and trout.  A national monument proposal, being discussed now by Senator Mark Udall and Congressman Doug Lamborn, would establish 22,000 acres as the new national monument, designate undeveloped portions of the monument as wilderness and protect the unique character of the area.
