CS Fly Fishing Show Dennis Miller, Featured Speaker
Dennis Miller – the manager of Three River Resorts in Almont, Colorado (owned by Mark and Mary Jo Schumacher) – will be one of our featured speakers at the Colorado Springs Fly Fishing Show, March 4. Dennis will focus on fishing the 150+ miles of rivers and streams in and around the Gunnison Valley.
Dennis is the patriarch of a fly fishing family. His wife fishes and his son is a fly fishing guide on the San Juan. Dennis lives in Almont from May through October and in Denver the rest of the year (oh, the joys of retirement!). He’s managed Three Rivers Resorts for around 13 years and has spent the last 25 years becoming an expert on the Gunnison Valley. Dennis also manages Willowfly Anglers.
He knows these waters – from the Lake Fork, to the Taylor, to the Cochetopa. Dennis’s presentation will include a discussion of fly selection and locations, so you can expect to get a glimpse of his fly box and check the maps of the region.
As an Umpqua Pro Tier, Dennis will also give a demo on some of his patterns. He loves fishing tailwaters, and his D-Midge is a go-to fly in many of our fisheries.
Dennis’s presentation will begin at 10:30 with his fly tying demo to follow.
