Guided Trips Give the Gift of Adventure

by Jon Easdon, Director of Services

A guided trip is the perfect gift for the angler in your life. Whether developing and advancing the angler’s skills, learning how to fly fish, or exploring new waters, a trip will get the fly fisher in your life plugged in to a new adventure. With all of the gear included, all the angler needs to bring on a trip is him or herself.  Here are a couple of our more unique guide trips available.

Couples Evening on the River

couples trip

This custom trip has been one of our most popular adventures in the last couple of years. Two guides, a chef, and a gourmet streamside meal make this trip truly a 5-star experience. This trip can be customized in any way, and we have a full slate of options to suggest as you plan your trip.  Read about one couple’s trip — a birthday trip — on our blog.

Kayak Fly Fishing Trips

New to the guided trip arsenal this year are guided kayak fly fishing trips.  As one of the only fly shops in the state that offer this, it is a unique and super fun way to fly fish in the area.  With access to some of the best Stillwater in the US, this is the way to fish it.

Fly fishing from a kayak offers the adventureous angler ways to explore our stillwater fisheries — Spinney, Elevenmile, Skagway, and Pueblo Reservoirs — in new ways.  “You can reach fish otherwise inaccessible,” Jon Easdon says, “and it opens doors to reach more species.”  Depending on the body of water, the angler can fish for wiper, walleye and bass.  “I can’t wait for pike season, to be honest.”

Two other benefits and pleasures offered from the kayak?  “Stealth and solitude,” Easdon says.  The guided trips will be about $90 more for the outing to cover the kayak rental. Watch for more information in the spring about this great opportunity!  (Photo by Gaylon Wampler.  Check his Facebook page for more of his work.)

Business on the River or group guided trips

Our corporate or group trips are the perfect way to get folks together and enjoy the sport of fly fishing together. Whether it’s a work function, team building, or family reunion, these trips are an extremely affordable option for your group.
