Father's Day Surprise

Two years ago, Dave Herber shared this story of a Father’s Day Surprise.  What a great way to spend some time with your dad!  Or, dads out there, maybe this is the year you’ll share the passion with your children!

Wife, Cindy, and daughters, Emily and Ellen, arranged a surprise fly fishing trip for husband and father Scott on Father’s Day.  The girls informed their Dad of the Sunday morning fly fishing trip by jumping on his bed, waking him up and saying “Dad —  We’re going fishing today.”

The family arrived at the gate of Rainbow Falls Mountain Trout at 7 am with the fifth member of the family, Tucker — the tennis ball-chasing dog.

We spent 2 hours at The Falls Run, and two hours at The Wedding hole with many trophy trout to the net. We ended our trip with a grilled, lakeside lunch.

It was a joy to introduce this family to Trout on a Fly Rod. We have some new members to the adventure of fly fishing!
