Father's Day Wish List!

What do you get that fly-fishing dad who has his gear, every gadget and widget known to mankind, and enough ties to last for a 50-year career? We asked around the shop and got the best ideas from our guides and staff to make the Father’s Day gift-giving a welcome surprise!

If I were to receive a Father’s Day gift this year, I would choose an Orvis Tech Chambray LS Work Shirt. This shirt is very comfortable, durable, and nice looking. The Chambray Work Shirt is great on the water, and looks great for a steak house dinner once off the water. ~ Paul Martinez

My Father’s Day gift suggestion are Abel nippers. Abel nippers perform day in and day out. I’m constantly cutting tippet, and the blades remain sharp and the spring mechanism just keeps on going. Abel nippers are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for, right? ~ Kenny Romero

I’m very pleased with my Orvis PRO Wading Boots. They are the easiest “On and Off” boots I have owned. The Michelin soles are the best traction of any boots I have used. They are still comfortable at the end of the day! ~ Dave Herber

I recommend the Orvis Mirage Lt reel as a great Father’s Day gift. I have a few now, in different weights, and it recently showed why it is such a great reel. I was fishing the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River during the Salmonfly hatch, and threw big bugs with my 6 weight. The drag handled big trout in fast water. The reel looks good, is lightweight, and made in the USA. The Orvis Mirage Lt is one of the best reels for the money. ~ Bob Taylor

If it’s above 50 degrees, you can know that I am wearing the Kuhl Renegade shorts. These shorts are ultra comfortable and are made of a durable two-way stretch materials. I like the wide array of colors, and Kuhl even makes them in different lengths. I think these are the most versatile pair of shorts in the world. ~ Jon Easdon

The Simms Bugstopper Hoody (shop here) is a must-have when the bugs are out! The hoody provides protection from both the bugs AND the sun. It’s super comfortable. It breathes well and dries quickly. Having a hood is essential for the long, sunny days. ~ Andrea Pasquan

I have carried my Fishpond Bitch Creek Tech Pack nearly every outing since I first got it. It is roomy enough for extra clothing, lunch, an additional fly box and gear, and the size keeps it from being a hassle while casting or trekking through willows on small, backcountry streams. ~ Vince Puzick
